You may have heard the term 'viatology' discussed in these
newsgroups. But what does it mean?

Viatology is the scientific study of roads. By following the
scientific method ( http://teacher.pas.rochester.edu/phy_labs/appendixe/appendixe.html
) to measure and analyse road characteristics, a viatologist can share
information w/ the international community that, most importantly,
helps define the methods in which roads connect w/ different regions &
political divisions of the world.

One of the most important characteristics of viatology is that its
participants conduct their own individual studies and share these w/
the scientific community. A viatologist is not to be confused w/ a
"road enthusiast", a consumerist who commonly redistributes road-
related stories by the media.

For more information on viatology, including its etymology thereof,
visit http://wwtl.info/#viatology.html

Through your contributions to viatology, road-related studies may
become part of general curricula in scientific research and academic
curricula one day. To further advances!

I'm glad you asked. I'm always willing to educate someone in the meaning of
Viatology.

Put simply, Viatology is the study of things that are wrong. So, when you
see someone using the word Viatology you know that they're talking about
something which is wrong. Often, very wrong. Or lots of things which are
wrong.

=============================================

Just checked my dictionary. It's not in there so I assume it's a word you
have invented.
