Hi Viatologists,
Over the years, the Worldwide Transportation Library (WWTL) evolved
its catalog of photographs into a shrink-wrapped slideshow format,
with the intent being that you'd see random highway photographs from
around the world. In the same time period, the WWTL has been proud to
see its U.S. highway photographs drop to 56% of total photograph
entries -- and that percentage will continue to shrink as times goes
on!
But there have been growing pains...
A lingering problem with the slideshow format was that, when you only
had five to six seconds to view a random highway, you probably didn't
have had the opportunity to know which country the highway was from.
The WWTL only displayed region names in each photograph entry. Sure,
you saw the region name "Limón" in one photograph entry... but what if
you have never been to Costa Rica? Or what if you were a visitor from
Costa Rica and saw a photograph entry from Tennessee? Where's
Tennessee, you may ask?
Solution... all completed in one day.
The Worldwide Transportation Library (WWTL) introduces and completes
"Operation Identification ". For each photograph entry you now see,
the country of the highway will be displayed on the upper righthand
corner. You no longer have to confuse an Italian road with a road in
Monaco. Or an Irish road with another in the UK. Magical, isn't it?

Ciao,
